Insight
Beholders, Book 1
by Terron James
YA Fantasy
Published June 1, 2013
by Jolly Fish Press

Synopsis Via Goodreads:

Rumors are surging through Appernysia that a Beholder has been born, the first wielder of True Sight in over a millennium.

Seventeen-year-old Lon Marcs discovers he has been blessed—or cursed—with this gift. He cannot control the power of True Sight and feels it killing him with each passing day. He realizes that the only people who might possess the knowledge to save his life are the sworn enemies of his king. To obtain their help, Lon would have to journey into exile, leaving behind his village, family, and beloved Kaylen.

Although this is the hardest decision Lon has ever made, it is only the first of many that will test his strength and challenge his interpretation of right and wrong.

About the Author:
Born in the wrong age, Terron James continually fantasizes of shining steel, majestic stone architecture, thundering cavalry rushes, and opportunities to prove his honor. Under the direction of his queen, Terron labors diligently in his kingdom, striving to prepare an inheritance worthy of his four heirs.

When he finally graduated from the University of Utah with his English BA, Terron had become besties with most of the English department staff, as well as the employees of Brio, who make a wicked cup of hot chocolate.

Spaghetti sauce inevitably finds its way behind at least one of Terron’s ears at every meal.

Although he currently resides in Tooele, UT, Terron’s dream is to capture every sunset with his wife, fingers interlocked, the reflection of his soul in her brown eyes, and the ocean surf rolling over their bare feet.

Terron is the Tooele Chapter president of the League of Utah Writers and a member of Pikes Peak Writers.

Now that you know about Insight & more about Terron,
I'm going to give him the floor :)

ME: How do you, as an author, go about writing your novels? I've learned that some authors write main scenes first, then go in and fill in the meat of the novel...where as others write from pg 1 to the very last page word for word without skipping around. Some have said they wear a certain pair of pants when they write, must sit in a certain chair, have a certain coffee mug by their side, listen to one certain song to get their creativity flowing.... It's fun to learn these quirks :)

TERRON: This is the most popular question that I've been asked on my blog tour, so let me approach this from a different angle to freshen things up a bit. I've talked a lot in other posts about how I go through the procedure, what music I listen to, the time I love to write, etc. One thing I haven't really talked about is one of the most essential conditions for me to be able to write.

If there isn't harmony in my home, I can't even write a poem.
(That was a wicked sweet rhyme, so you know things must be doin' pretty good right now. *snicker*)

Mostly, this applies to my relationship with my wife. Interestingly enough, becoming a serious author has been one of the best ways to improve my marriage. If my wife and I have a spat, no matter how small, I can't get in the right frame of mind to craft, not even if the scene is a similar kind of dispute. Have you ever tried to write a traumatic death scene while listening to the theme song from Sesame Street? Now imagine doing that with headphones blasting the song directly into your ears, so loud it makes your vision vibrate. It just ain't happenin'. You can't think of anything else but that obnoxious music, and you can't get the song out of your head for the rest of the day. That's why, when I'm planning a writing marathon, I make extra efforts to ensure my wife is happy, which means I must make sure my four boys are happy, too.
